Counseling Faculty

James Puckett

Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, Counseling and Leadership

Biography

Dr. Puckett completed his doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision from Viterbo University. He currently serves as an instructor at both Bradley University and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s psychology department, and he has worked in a variety of settings that include schools, a domestic violence shelter, WrapAround Milwaukee, mentoring services, and residential treatment facilities. These experiences forged a path that led him to become a therapist, which then evolved into serving as an educator.

Dr. Puckett teaches courses in theories and techniques and consultation in addition to serving as faculty for the practicum and internship courses. He is fascinated to watch learners begin to connect the dots and put the pieces of the puzzle together.
