Biography
Dr. Nelson completed her doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Having served in a variety of settings spanning hospitals, outpatient, residential, and community, Dr. Nelson’s clinical experience includes providing counseling, supervision, and case management services in the areas of mental health, addictions, and developmental disabilities.

The courses she teaches include theories and techniques, assessment and treatment, grief and loss, ethics, human growth and development, counseling diverse populations, research methodology and applications, clinical supervision, and brain-based interventions, as well as serving as faculty for the practicum and internship.
