Professor Borton joined the Bradley University Department of Nursing faculty in January 2010 as a part-time clinical instructor. In February 2011, she joined the faculty on a full-time basis as an assistant professor of nursing. Prior to coming to Bradley full time, she served as an advanced practice nurse at Family Quick Care Clinic. Professor Borton’s clinical experience includes urgent care and family practice.

As a family nurse practitioner, Professor Borton specializes in physical assessment. She co-teaches the physical assessment content in the classroom to sophomore nursing students along with teaching the sophomore medical-surgical clinical. She also serves as the skills lab coordinator, helping to develop simulation experiences for undergraduate nursing students. Professor Borton continues to work part-time as an advanced practice nurse in the urgent care setting.
