Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program Director
Biography
Katherine Sarsfield joined Bradley University full time in 2021 as the program director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. She previously taught as an adjunct professor in Bradley’s graduate and undergraduate program.
She graduated summa cum laude in communications / journalism in 2010, and magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bradley University in Peoria in 2013. She received her master’s degree in adult and geriatric nursing from Maryville University, St. Louis, in May 2017, and her post-master’s degree in psychiatric and mental health nursing in December 2019.
Katherine has worked as a nurse practitioner in a combination of primary care, psychiatry, and addiction recovery, currently focusing on alcohol use disorder, an area she is passionate about. Katherine is a member of Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nursing, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In her free time, Katherine enjoys gardening and spending time with her family. Katherine lives in Springfield, Illinois with her husband, 2 dogs and 3 cats.
