Biography

Dr. Hammond began her nursing journey in 2010 as a student in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program. What started as an entry into the profession evolved into a rewarding career shaped by years of continued education, clinical practice, and leadership. She gained early experience in long-term care and rehabilitation as an LPN before achieving her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, where she worked in general pediatrics.

Through this role, Dr. Hammond discovered a passion for leadership and progressed into positions as a charge nurse, supervisor, and manager. In these roles, she found her greatest fulfillment in leading projects and driving meaningful change. She assisted in the implementation and opening of Almost Home Kids in Peoria, Illinois; developed and implemented a call center in Little Rock, Arkansas; and successfully opened six pediatric subspecialty clinics for the Children’s Hospital of Illinois. Throughout her career, she has led and supported numerous process improvement and RIM initiatives.
